17. If the economy improves, then we can deal with the national debt.
The "trickle down" fools broke us. We have to stay afloat first then start rebuilding everything.

Things are so bad that another 2 yrs. of tax cuts for the uber rich won't do much more harm. If we don't give in to the corrupt corporate influenced republicans, we will get stinking nothing. Obama has had no support except the fair weather, well wishers, called Democrats.

FDR had to deal with the same group of republican swill. He, however, was not undone every minute by infiltrating all consuming mass media propaganda. More people then lived in a more real world that required them to think about their individual survival.

I feel that President Obama has made steady progress against these treacherous money changers. I hope that with the help of those who believe in pragmatic social change this man succeeds in holding together our decimated country.

/Islamic/radical christian/socialist/anti-American, he would have fought for us.

Just kidding, I know he's fighting for Goldman Sachs and the like, not for teabaggers.

8. Wake up folks
Obama had two years and both Houses in Congress to end Bush tax cuts. He got the deal he wanted.

13. not that simple
the Dem controlled house and senate had two year to deal with this and they punted because were afraid in an election year of the ads by republicans saying they "raised taxes" "tax and spend" etc... They waffled and kicked the can down the road while the White House pressed them to act. I think the president made a bad deal, but the Dems in congress share the blame for forcing Obama into a last minute compromise.

19. We Didn't Have the Votes Then, We Don't Have the Votes Now, We Will Have Even Fewer Next Year
It is a damn good thing they did put it off until after the election.

We didn't have the votes to overcome the Repiglickin filibuster before the election either,
so we would have been stuck with the same deal, or an election year "tax increase".

We will have even fewer votes next year.

Every loss makes the party weaker, and forces it further to the right. :(

20. +1 Exactly right! He's the Goldman Sachs President.
He delivered exactly what his constituents wanted, and what he intended to provide.

15. Obama is NOT a stupid man.
I think he misrepresented himself.
He is too willing to go along with the republicans on so many issues.
Not only turning his back on his base but chastising them.
This guy is a BLUE DOG through and through.
