My immediate thought was: yeah, like the economic collapse total free market enterprise caused Argentina and how what a beacon of high standards of living Mexico is due to its total free market enterprise to just name two examples, as compared to, lets say, France and Sweden to just name two with a healthy degree of social programs.

Is virtually indistinguishable from ones these people churned out in the '50s when I was a child and we got to watch them in Sunday School and History class. The only difference was that the liberals were called Fifth Columnists, Reds, Fellow Travelers and The Enemy Within. The purpose was the same then as it is now: to put as man Republicans in as many political offices as possible. :smoke:

18. What they fail to note about the unprecedented death and destruction of the 20th Century

is that it was perpetrated primarily by totalitarian, militaristic and and right-wing leadership - the types that Christian fundamentalists stand behind. It wasn't some nebulous liberal influence on society that corrupted the moral values of the people and killed so many people in all those wars. Liberals fought to *end* war, not perpetuate it.

Our problem is we have a bunch of people in our society who have the ideas advocated in this film clip filling up their heads. They have no education based on an open, honest discussion of history and facts. This makes them a danger to everyone around them. A film clip like this is propaganda and a shameful, despicable part of American history.

Christian conservative fundamentalism is a belief system that is the antithesis of free, open-minded inquiry. Their beliefs have no integrity on their own. Instead, they require the threat of eternal damnation to get people to go along with them. It would be laughable if it weren't so pervasive.

On face value, conservatives/fundamentalists (of all stripes) are a joke. And it's easy to just dismiss them as not worth our time because they will have to suffer their own stupidity. Unfortunately, liberals have also underestimated them by assuming they would fall apart under the weight of that stupidity. But the fundamentalists have a long history that supports their own beliefs and a doctrine that insidiously refuses to accept facts to the contrary and the inevitable conclusions one naturally comes to from those facts.
