Takes repeated shots at tax cuts for billionaires, too. Of course, never says "Republican," but a stand-up performance anyway by Shep, given his employer.

2. are the Tea Baggers in the street over this?

oh yea, that's right - it's about money with them - not patriotism or love of country - just 'gimme my tax money'

7. Yep,
All the teabaggers want is tax cuts, don't touch "their" SS, medicare, or other government benefits they may get, but git rid of all the "OTHER" stuff they don't use! the teabaggers are a joke, and I am going to love it when they tear into the republican party next year, and try and take it over using threats, and who knows, maybe even "guns", to get their way!

15. Thanks for posting
Nice touch here at Christmas. Shepherd Smith and Chris Wallace showing compassion for heroes. It shouldn't be a big deal coming from them / Fox . But with today's political climate , it is .

16. exactly - so out of character for them to be reasonable & at the same time!

must be FoxNews has run out of their big box of 'lies and misrepresentations' and are backordered on 'ridiculous myths we can pitch to idiots'

hopefully they'll continue

6. I caught that too.
Remember Ronald Reagan's 11th Commandment? "Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican." At least not by name, I suppose.

11. 9/11 Responders were hostages for the GOP
Next week it'll be someone else and the media will continue to act like its a bipartisan problem in Washington.

5. shep has his moments. his was the first katrina rant i
witnessed (by the rw corporate media). i often wish he would come to the light and abandon the dark side. same with anderson cooper. i suspect they are less rw than the rest of the knuckleheads on faux news. however, in this rant both shep and chris neglected to identify that it was the repubs obstructing the 9/11 health care vote.

8. it is exactly what Stewart said. "They" stopped the aid, not "the Republicans" stopped it
I wonder if its in his contract that he can't say a bad thing about republicans if he names them

The misinformed who watch Fox are now MORE misinformed. Since it was on Fox, they will undoubtedly believe it is the dems who are preventing them getting aid.

It would have been better for him not to have said anything than to leave the impression that the "they" is not the party he works for.

Damn 'em all.

9. Shep Smith got the memo from Sammon
In essence, act outraged, and play the token liberal perspective regarding outrage, but do not mention which party was responsible for not getting this through. That way Fox News can still try and claim that "fair and balanced" mantra whilst conveniently omitting some of the facts.

Shep certainly isn't fooling everyone, just the imbeciles who continue to cling to every word Fox News tells them as God given truthiesm.

10. I think Shep said everything he could get away with at Faux...
Let's face it, most at Faux are not above giving the same rant, only substituting the words "Democrat party" (Democrats seems to have vanished from their vocabulary) for "them". Most people, when in a situation that calls for them to lie, for good or bad, at least feel some guilt over it. Most on Faux could say almost anything to advance the repuke/corporate agenda a pass a polygraph with flying colors. As George Costanza say's, "It's not really a lie if you believe it."

14. He has a contract or an attorney more powerful than anyone on FOX.
I have an old story about Tom Snyder that I have told many times.

Keith Olbermann did not have such an attorney as Hookstratten as Tom did. BTW I did see the broadcast of "Even jail birds..." that got Tom suspended for all of a few hours. Long story short Tom was suspended. He laughed in Tom Capra's face. He said I'll call Hookstratten. "See you tomorrow." He saw him tomorrow.

And I confirmed the story with Hookstratten's brother. It was true.

Shep has a contract or an attorney that allows him to do this without fear of Roger Ailes.
