Views on DU: 1250 | U.S. diplomatic cables released by WikiLeaks reveal the Bush administration drew up ways to retaliate against Europe for refusing to use genetically modified seeds. In 2007, then-U.S. ambassador to France Craig Stapleton was concerned about France’s decision to ban cultivation of genetically modified corn produced by biotech giant Monsanto. He also warned that a new French environmental review standard could spread anti-biotech policy across Europe. We speak with Jeffrey Smith of the Institute for Responsible Technology. http://www.democracynow.org/2010/12/23/wikileaks_cables_reveal_us_sought_to Seeds of Deception: Exposing Industry and Government Lies About the Safety of the Genetically Engineered Foods You're Eating http://www.amazon.com/Seeds-Deception-Government-Genetically-Engineered/dp/0972966587/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1293174272&sr=8-1

They are undermining the farming industry and farmers we all depend upon to survive, worldwide, just so they can make their profit.
The world would be a much better place without Monsanto.
I haven't yet see or heard any evidence that Monsanto ever increase yields, and wasn't that the promise that justified all their draconian controls? But I have heard that they deceased yields and increased costs. But once you start using their seeds, the hassle and cost to eradicate every trace of their seed in a field before planting something else is so prohibitive that it keeps people from changing back.
It is one hell of a racket. Especially when you can get the world's most powerful military government to act as your bully enforcer around the world.

IF WE PAY ATTENTION! I was aware of this several years ago but then I have faithfully combed the "rogue, conspiracy theorist" blogs, articles/ websites, for 8 or 9 years faithfully!
