The tax cuts are not cuts at all, they are deferments at best, etc.

I think it's important to call a thing not only by its right name but also by the most descriptive form of it. To call a position "anti-progressive" is vague and not qualitative, since there are different beliefs about what progress is. However, a word like "bigoted" or "prejudiced" is precise, and while such qualities may be denied (doing so also has the added advantage of putting the denier on the defensive) their denotations and connotations are not readily debatable.
