I'm not talking about putting a flat screen TV on your credit card, but buying a house, car or paying for college? I have a nice car today because a bank is willing to loan me money, and I think 3.99% is more than reasonable.
I think if banks didn't make loans at all (why would they if they couldn't turn a profit), then the rich wouldn't really care, and the poor would really be hurt.

obviously not a big screen tv or some frivolity but business loans, home loans, the big ones..and since one is not paying interest on those loans, one could 'save' for the extravagances like a car or a tv?
