1. So if we don't charge interst, how do we buy expensive things?

I'm not talking about putting a flat screen TV on your credit card, but buying a house, car or paying for college? I have a nice car today because a bank is willing to loan me money, and I think 3.99% is more than reasonable.

I think if banks didn't make loans at all (why would they if they couldn't turn a profit), then the rich wouldn't really care, and the poor would really be hurt.

2. The idea was that you share with the lender the appreciation of the goods bought

obviously not a big screen tv or some frivolity but business loans, home loans, the big ones..and since one is not paying interest on those loans, one could 'save' for the extravagances like a car or a tv?
