Faux news = BS

Fox News' Megyn Kelly debated Sheriff Clarence Dupnik, the man leading the investigation into the shooting in Arizona, about the sheriff's recent comments about what he saw as the "vitriol" in political and media discourse that had contributed to the incident, in which six, including a federal judge, have died, and Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was shot.

Dupnik appeared on a special Sunday edition of "America Live." Kelly asked about the suspected shooter, Jared Lee Loughner, and what his motives might be. Was there something, she asked, about Giffords that "set off?"

"There are a whole lot of people in this country who are very angry about the politics of people like Gabrielle," Dupnik said. "There was a lot of vitriolic statements made night and day on radio and TV about her support of health care, about her support of some of the other things, and some of the vitriol got .... a lot of people agitated. But you took the words out of my mouth...you're talking about irrational behavior here."

Kelly asked if there was anything the sheriff had discovered in his investigation that suggested that Loughner was "listening to radio or watching television and was in any way inspired by what he heard or saw?"

Dupnik said that he did not yet have any such evidence, but that the investigation had only just begun.

Kelly said she was wondering if it was the right time for Dupnik to be, in her words, "injecting speculative opinion" about the case. He replied that he thought that the issue had to be raised. "Free speech is free speech but it's not without consequences," he said. But Kelly pressed him further. "With respect, sheriff, I know that you're a Democrat and you ran for office as a Democrat, and I just want to press you on that a little. I'm sure some of our viewers are asking themselves why you are putting a political spin on this when they may be asking why you the sheriff aren't just focused on the facts, on uncovering the facts," she said.

1. Methinks Kelly doth protest too much
I have to admit I haven't heard every comment Dupnik made, but as far as I know, he never mentioned any specific radio show or TV network.

Guilty conscience, Ms Kelly?

16. Totally agree. . .she was trying to put him on the spot so he would "exhonerate" them. . .
but he didn't!
Good for him. . .he stuck to his opinion, and didn't back down even when she started to be "aggressive."

30. Methinks Fox News doth defend Fox News too much
Why defensive?

My partner just said about this video "Methinks Kelly doth protest too much" and "You don't have to be defensive if you have nothing to defend"

3. Their Viewers---The TeaPartiers????
People who have common sense know the Sheriff is correct.
Maybe just maybe Fox is going to overplay their hand on
this one. Defending the Indefensible.

5. Following Marching Orders!
Edited on Sun Jan-09-11 10:43 PM by husky92
Leave it to the Foxies to take offense to something they are one of the most guilty of. He should have asked her about Sarah Palin's bullseyes on Democratic targets or why Fox promoted those disrupted Town Hall meetings and promoted the Tea Party rallies in the past two years or why they continually attack Pres. Obama. She's full of it and she's just taking marching orders from her bosses. You know damned well if this person had been a "liberal" or said he liked Countdown or read The Daily Kos or some such site they would have pounced on it immediately and made a HUGE issue out of it. The sheriff is absolutely right, there is too much hate being manufactured by the right. They don't want to admit it, but they have ratcheted up much of the hate out there thru their on-air talent as well as others like Beck, Limbaugh, Savage, etc. Their moronic viewers/listeners believe everything they say. If people like Kelly and others on the right don't see this, then they are dumber than I thought.

12. Yes Megyn.....
...you're partly responsible for people being murdered. The sheriff had you among others in mind when he mention "vitriol." That's what you spew for a living. And so you can't weasel out of your responsibility for this. Your hands will be bloody with their deaths until the day your scrawny ass slips this mortal coil.

 - You fucking airhead......

The rhetoric, not Palin & Co..

That is very disturbing.

Where are they taking this?

20. They are taking this to court, preemptively, that's where
Fox wants to avoid at all costs any of their people being indicted for incitement, so they are trying to
head this off at the pass. If any of them get indicted and put on trial, it would generate more headlines
about them than they'd want, and give rise to their greatest fear of all: a serious loss of advertising revenue.

24. Body language and tone are very telling...
Dupnik: Well established; honest; open unflinching.

Kelly: Tense; somewhat combative; bothered that she could not get an "in" to take the conversation her way; visibly irritated that she was not in "command" of the situation.

25. Who's trying to put a political spin Megyn?? You're such
a clever little girl aren't you, trying so hard to cover Fox's arse, and the rest of the right wing. I'm not as old as the sheriff, but can honestly say in my time I haven't seen anything like what's been going on politically, the way the right wing media incites, the way the GOP incites, etc. I would imagine that during the Civil War things were pretty heated, but then we didn't have television and radio to egg it on.

I say this in response to the recent study that purports the brain of a Conservative craves fear and she outdoes herself in this interview with her questioning of the sheriff.

33. I couldn't make it through the entire interview.
I feel such a strong animosity towards that Newsmodel/Idiot. The sound of her voice causes my blood pressure to go up. It's a damn shame that the disturbed fuckers of the world aren't going after the talking dipshits on T.V. I truly believe they are the reason for so many of the problems we are facing in this country now. Her stuttering and yammering away dripping with that phony "compassion" in her voice is enough to make me want to vomit.

What a despicable hate monger. She is perfect for Fox. The RW control America, even most of our "elected" Democrats.
It is incredulous that in the 21st century, especially in "the land of the free" (lol), that citizens are manipulated completely by the ruling class.
