Leadership for the Tea Party movement has shown zero remorse for the lunatic hate movement they have helped create alongside Fox News, Glenn Beck, and Rush Limbaugh. Their first press release says the obvious. It says that the Tea Party crazies will be blamed for creating the atmosphere in America that resulted in the death and crippling of 20 innocent people, including a nine-year-old child. The Tea Party has gotten a free pass from a media far too long. It’s as if traditional media has enhanced the Tea Crazy movement so new political stories could be created. Reported by shallow, uninformed, TV producers who rarely take the time to do much research analysis in the 15 minute pieces they throw together for hopelessly uninformed Americans. So we didn’t hear much about the Right Wing fringe activity that was being fed with anti-liberal, anti-government hate talk by the Tea Party and its oddball leaders like Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin.

13. I must take issue with Papantonio.

It isn't incompetency by the media, as Pap said. They are willful participants in spreading right wing ideology. Their owners insist on this because that ideology absolves corporations of their responsibilities to the American citizen. This is why the media is so bad. It is so bad because ownership is in the hands of the too few very powerful players. We must say it like it is.

The protests marches against the Iraq war were ignored by the media pretty much.

The tea parties were inflated ...even if it was only a few people ..it would make the news. Because the tea partiers serve the corporate agenda. US news is 90% propaganda.

I have been reading the Guardian since WikiLeaks came on the scene. The articles and online comments are so different from the US. Virtually free of name calling and concentrating on facts. I can understand why people with money like to live there.Not me, no money and I love where I live..but still. I see the attraction.

18. The News Media is a cleverly crafted emotion crank

designed to keep you glued to the screen by manipulating your emotions. Many people aren't even aware of what's being done to them. There was actually a time when news anchors "talked" to you. Everything today is almost shouted, if not shouted. This a tactic they use to make you feel a sense of urgency about everything they say. Even if they say, "scrambled eggs". So of course, they love the Palins and the Becks. These two have cashed in on the tactic. People can't turn away when someone's screaming fire all the time.

In other countries you are read the news. Not shouted and argued about the news, with flags waving behind, and fires burning and bullets flying, and over the top sound effects....

Relax people. Let's talk like real human beings. Not cartoons or pro wrestlers.
