Barbara Walters Defends Sarah Palin, Says She Is 'Feeling Bad' For Her

Barbara Walters came to Sarah Palin's defense on Monday's "View." The former Alaska governor is coming under heated criticism in the wake of the Arizona shooting for the map she put out which placed Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords' district, among others, in crosshairs. (Giffords was shot in the massacre, which killed six.)

Walters, though, said that Palin was being unfairly singled out. "I'm feeling bad for Sarah Palin," she said, though she added that the crosshairs map was a bad idea.

Walters continued:

"This is a deranged young man. This is a Timothy McVeigh. Whether this happened because there is...too much commentary, too much violence...whether that really spurred him on or whether he's just a very sick person, we don't know and we don't know what his motives are...to blame Sarah Palin, as some are doing, I think is very unfair to her."

3. I wonder how long it would take for Joy and Whoopi to walk off
I'm guessing at least a minute or two sooner than it took for them to walk away from Falafel Boy.

Uh, Babs.... what do you think inspired McVeigh? Sesame Street?

And poor put upon Sarah is in the limelight for this because SHE has made HERSELF a PUBLIC FACE for this kind of tough talk crap.

Walters is an idiot.

6. Somebody show her the map
Maybe Barb-wa didn't see the crosshair map or read the Palin quote, "Don't retreat, reload". Should we give her the benefit of the doubt--nah!

11. Barbara Walters is a right wing shill
She keeps The View dumb because she thinks women who stay at home will admire her and want to be like her. It did not work. Rosie O'Donnell brought the ratings way up because she did not talk down to women.Elizabeth Horseback is an idiot.

Please. She has blood on her hands that will not wash off.

politically. This is it. I'm done with her - not for feeling sorry for the gun lover/human hater Palin. Walters just showed her right wing corporatist bosses how right wing she can be. It's too late to backtrack, Barbara. That's it.

Edited on Mon Jan-10-11 11:10 PM by JJW
Shame on you Baba Wawah. How about feeling sorry for Gabby you right-wing loon.

If Sawah had any respect for Gabby and her family, she never would have targeted her with a rifle cross hair.

The consequences of Palin's hate speeches are nothing new. As during the Presidential campaign, Obama's security had to be increased as Palin ratcheted up her mud throwing and slander.

And McCain is to blame also for bringing this non-vetted grifting half wit, onto the national stage.

Edited on Tue Jan-11-11 02:32 AM by Ken Burch
She's "feeling bad for Sarah Palin"(when Palin's rhetoric probably caused this), yet she could NEVER forgive Gilda Radner for a harmless series of "SNL" sketches.

20. Screw this...
I tried to watch this utter bullshit. I hold no quarter for Palin apologists. As far as I'm concerned, Palin should be living in exile right now, and never to be heard from or about again.
