1. Why is the medical vacations industry estimated at over 4 billion a
year? Why do citizens that live close to the Mexican border, and have health insurance, have to travel to Mexican border towns for care?

2. Connecticut Public Option?
I live in CT. This would be a godsend for our state. When I go to our upcoming Democratic Town Committee meeting this month I hope to find out more about it.

I have always been happy and at home living in such a democratic and liberal state. Even more-so with something like this moving forward.

For Profit health insurance is a corporate perversion that should be eliminated completely in the entire USA.

Now, CT has long been the location for BIG INSURANCE. I wonder what looms ahead for this Public Option here in the Nutmeg state?

3. The status quo is indefensible.
The corporate spokesman had no case. Too much of our health care dollar is wasted on profit. And this is literally killing Americans.

Of course there are many good things about the U.S. health care system but the insurance industry, the for-profit health care delivery system and the pharmaceutical industry can't be included in the list of good things. They serve as impediments.

5. Of ALL he things we debate in this country
this SHOULD be the easiest sell. Eliminate the middleman that skims 20% off the top. Stop profiteering from illness and death. DUH.

Why are we (as a country, not here at DU) still talking about this?
