3. Here's how I know Frohnmayer & why his name may be familiar to you:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Frohnmayer

Frohnmayer earned his undergraduate degree from Stanford University, a master's degree in Christian ethics from the University of Chicago, and a law degree from the University of Oregon School of Law in 1972.<1> He was a decorated officer in the United States Navy, in which he served from 1966-1969.

President George H.W. Bush appointed Frohnmayer, who lacked both administrative experience and artistic credentials, to chair the National Endowment for the Arts in 1989. The NEA was in the midst of controversies surrounding its funding of projects such as Piss Christ and the homoerotic art of Robert Mapplethorpe.

As NEA Chair, Frohnmayer was attacked by artists on the grounds of his tepid support for freedom of expression, by liberals on the grounds of his "loyalty oath" and refusal to support artistic independence, by conservatives (and Pat Buchanan in particular), on the basis of his willingness to spend public money for what many taxpayers saw as profane and sacreligious art, and by NEA board members for general incompetence. President Bush asked Frohnmayer to resign in 1992.

Frohnmayer published two books in the 1990s: Leaving Town Alive, an account of his experience at the NEA, and Out of Tune: Listening to the First Amendment, a text for high school and college courses.

28. No, it is not a better question. Get your priorities straight.
The people and not the leadership must act; and not by posting
on the computer. Actum non Verbum.

Now they continue to follow up and write/call said Dems.

So, you stop your belittling of those of us who CARE.

10. When people like Frohnmayer talk impeachment Bush should get nervous.
Edited on Sat Sep-15-07 06:14 PM by pa28
Frohnmayer was Dean of the University of Oregon law school and later President of UofO. He's argued numerous cases before the supreme court and he's a former Republican nominee for Governor for the State of Oregon.

He knows the law and he says flat out the Constitution requires his impeachment.

20. Actually that is his brother David Frohnmayer
John was the chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts. Nonetheless he is a member of a great Oregon family that is noted for generations of public service. He is also too brilliant to be a Republican

25. Everyone still cares. Thing is, they have the keyes to the bus still, the control of power.
The Presidency is a very, very powerful institution. Therein lies the problem, that and the impudence of criminality.

What part of that does the Democratic leadership in Congress not understand???

Maybe he can ask that Gore jump into the race. THIS is why we need Gore- none of the candidates are talking about the raping of The Constitution.

18. And he's ONLY considering signing statements -- !!! And, btw, Congress has the responsibility . . .
to ensure that the legislation/laws they pass are carried out in the manner, spirt and intent which was intended. That sounds to me as though Signing Statements can only be held as unConstitutional --
and unlawful.
