1. meh. Empathy is overrated.

I have almost none. I'm still a liberal.

2. Empathy---being able to put yourself in the other person's place.

To me this seems necessary in all kinds of situations.

3. It may be necessary for social situations

but I avoid them like the plague. Too much stress trying to divine the intent behind every word and every gesture, and to no useful end. Tires me out.
