He isn't stupid. Stupid is just part of his MO. Gomert is a beneficiary of Tom Delay's (also not stupid) redistricting efforts, which were designed to increase the power of the idiocracy in the 1st Congressional District and the rest of Texas to elect sociopaths like Gomert and his mentor Delay. Progressives create a dysfunctional frame by demeaning the abilities of such people. They are for real, smart, cunning and dangerous enemies of the very Constitution they wrap themselves in.
