is really showing his calm reason ,however it sounds like this guy feels "entitled" I am so fricken tired of morons....we should have an island (joke)for these folks where they can have the Public option for their benefits to go to wall street(only if we have a public option for health-care)if they choose that they are then ineligible for social security.Social security is not even fair for some African-Americans and women as there is has been much job discrimination towards these minority's as well as Hispanics.Now,I bet this guy has a gun under his bed ,and although he may be one of the more reasonable right -wingers he too may need a mental health evaluation.Good for u Mike.:rant: :banghead:

9. The caller was obviously parroting talking points from a RW talk show and did what others do.

He let the talk show host create a boogeyman in his mind who's taking something that the caller thinks he paid for. The caller just goes into blind hatred and wants to eliminate Social Security because of it, not thinking how it can benefit him and his family when needed.

I have a BIL who wants to eliminate Social Security deductions, saying he can take that money and invest it himself and make more money than he'd get from Social Security. He claims he made money in the stock market during the recent recession.

Call me dubious, but this guy essentially is a hobby investor and he performed better than the people investing other peoples' money for a living? Many people I know lost at least half the value of their stock portfolios during the recession, trusting their investments to those who are pros, while my BIL claims his portfolio grew?

The caller was speaking from ignorance. But he didn't get much of a chance to explain himself and/or concede the points Mike Malloy was making. It would have been interesting to see if he would have even tried to defend his position after Mike got him to agree with the need of -- and the uses of -- Social Security. He was civil throughout, which was worth noting. Moreover, he said that he listens to Mike Malloy frequently, which is also worth noting. For all we know, he may have experienced a moment of conversion in the light of Mike's rational and calm explanations.

Mike was brilliant, of course. But I don't think the caller was/is a bigot or a fool. He struck me as a guy who wants to be reasonable, but who has been warped by right wing propaganda.

The radio host has been doing this for a while, and the callers are screened... Mike probably already knew where the caller's "talking points" were going.

Social Security has been a social program that the Right Wing has attacked since the day it was enacted. The guy who called could be a paid shill, or a parrot. (most likely a parrot.)

there was nothing reasonable about anything he said. He wasn't going to concede any point to Malloy--that much was obvious. Not only was he ignorant, but he's willfully stupid and pride-filled in his stupidity.

He should not have been given a chance to explain a got-damb thing--all he was talking about was based in lies and mis-information... par for the course with beck's main-liners.

Who cares if he listens to Malloy? He also--clearly--listens to beck and gives more weight to the lies of beck than he does the truth coming from Malloy.
