1. "Small marker on the outside to designate the missile as having a nuclear warhead" |
|
Seems like I recall conversations here on DU from former mils that there was NO WAY to confuse a nuclear equipped vs a non-nuclear equipped Cruise Missile.

Correct...there is no way! The fact that this happened has "the unitary executive" written all over it...re: Dick Cheney. For 4 years, I was a weapons mechanic on B-52s, loading nukes stateside and live ordnance for a year in Thailand while we illegally bombed Cambodia, per Nixon/Kissinger. I was there when they got caught by Congress and we stopped in August of '73. But, I digress. Something very covert or very wrong happened at Minot AFB to get that bird to Barksdale, which happens to be a "superwing". There's more Buffs there than any other base. It's like a "launching pad" if you will, for staging to war zones. Was there, too, TDY from Loring AFB, ME in 1972. Crazy place. Just the fact that those nukes went airborne and no one knew...sorry, I'm not buyin' it. Some true patriot had to rat that out and foil someone's covert plan, on probably Iran. How many may have already been successfully staged can not, at this point, be known.

There should be a red "flag" about 12" long with a ring with a pin on it at the end. That pin goes into an area of the pylon where a shackle is and assists in inadvertant release of the weapon. Pin is to be pulled before flight by the crew chief. Who knows what they had planed for those "pickles".

11. Very simples, neocons want America to use nuclear weapons |
|
...to bring total submission and surrender by the enemy target and also any other nation which challenges U.S. dominance. They want supreme power and unchallenged control, period! They believe that by using nuclear weapons they will have that and no one will attempt to take that away from them because, they, the neocons will not hesitate to use nuclear bombs against anyone. They also believe that the majority of Americans will support them in their insane quest, basically for the same reasons, total fear and terror.

13. They may not have dropped it on a target |
|
What if, say, a low yield nuke went off in a remote part of Iran? Would that not be the perfect excuse for Bushco to execute their planned bombing campaign? Nobody would believe crazy Iran when they say it wasn't them testing a nuclear device, and the US can deny using nukes, but could still take out Iran with conventional weapons. Some years ago I would never have believed something like that could happen but now I'm not so sure.

12. So this stand down was on the 14th? |
|
Edited on Sun Sep-16-07 02:29 PM by iaviate1
I was under the impression the stand-down was planned for a while... even before the incident. And now it seems CNN seems to be tying it to the nuke error.
