1. Too many vested interests making $$ from the "War on Drugs".....
Drugs and Abortions will remain political hot potatoes for the foreseeable future in the US.

3. One of the biggest benefactors of our failing "War on Drugs"
is the rapidly growing prison industrial complex! We ARE a prison nation.

4. Right locking people up for drug use/sales is a wet dream money making scam
of the prison industry especially since states started privatizing prisons.

10. Yup
Private prison administrators donate $$ to legislators who vote for mandatory minimums which fill up the private prisons which makes big profits so big donations can be made to legislators...sickening.

11. Ding Ding Ding.. We have a winner!
Law enforcement agencies will be the biggest losers...... Police / DEA / FBI ... war on drugs is their reason for being. Take that away and you can reduce these agencies to a fraction of their current personnel and budgets.

Can you imagine how furious these law enforcement agencies would be knowing that the $$$ that used to go into paying their salaries was re-directed to purchasing drugs to hand out to addicts?

Hilarity!

Its the CIA's main source of funding and Citibank would've folded long ago if they hadn't had all that illegal drug money. (See- http://www.fromthewilderness.com/free/ciadrugs/052401_slatkin_story.html">The Crimes of Citibank & More CIA Connections.)

What is so pitiful about it is that we know all this, and yet we still allow ourselves to be pushed around. We imprison our youth future by warehousing our progeny in the privately-owned prisons of the Corrections Corporations of America -- which somehow seems a fitting name for the whole country.

- As long as the sheeple stand for it, as H.L. Mencken said: "they're gonna keep giving it to us good and hard....."

I agree with these "facts" as they are presented by Cenk.

Special interests will undermine any attempt to change the drug laws. The drug producers and smugglers would lose billions if drug laws are liberalized. Those with money invested in the prison industrial complex would also be big losers. Besides this, there are dark racist forces operating behind the scene in this nation that love the negative effect drugs have had in minority communities.
