1. He will be missed, whenever he passes.
His analysis of the Tea Party movement as well as his writing on the necessity of secular government to curb violence and discrimination based on 'religion,' was very well thought out as well.

I haven't enjoyed his style as much as others may have, and held it against him for a while about his initial support for the invasion of Iraq. That made him sound like just another neo-con then.

Since then I've come to appreciate his thoughts and will be sorry that he won't be there to inject some logic into our national discourse because we sorely need it. Some will enjoy his thought-provoking arguments from these:

His article on the Tea Party:

On the conflict of secular and religious authority:

2. He sounded weak during that interview.
Say what you will about him, he has handled his cancer with courage, grace, and eloquence.

3. This Saddens Me - Still... There is hope.
I can appreciate those with whom I don't always agree. Especially when their contributions to this life have been as significant and moving as those of Christopher Hitchens.

4. Power to him. He is facing this with perfect poise and courage.
I'll really miss his talent. I hope he still has a lot more time to share with us. It's just such a pleasure to hear or read him on any topic. His way with words is so wonderful.
