but I think he was pushed and no one pushed back. They stood aside to protect their careers or looked the other way.

Yeah, that's a brilliant plan.

15. People Almost Always do That |
|
Even at a Pizza joint. Let someone fall out of favor with the boss, and see if they don't get the cold shoulder. When there are million dollar salaries on the line, it's even more likely.
I think they realize we all know what is up, and no matter whether they say it's not going to make a difference, we'll be watching, and I think as Comcast gets its tentacles in there, they'll get more and more limited in what they are able to do, especially as the election looms.
I think they've really been thinking about the fact a few of their SC conservatives might croak, which means Obama would get to choose, then the Senate approve of maybe another who'll roll back the role of corporations in our society. They want to stop that, to get a conservative back in, and they need the media to do that.
Keith will be back, and I think we'll hear from him on the Internet sooner than we might expect, as he is allowed from what I've read, to do so. Maybe even here.

And we learn from him what really happened. I'd love to hear the real story straight from the horses mouth sort-of-speak. There are most likely things Rachel can't say or else risk her own job.

I promise. He might throw out hints but he is gagged. Standard clause in getting the rest of his contract payed. Then again, Keith doesn't seem all that hung up on money, so maybe he will spill. But I wouldn't count on it.

12. gagged for less money than Conan |
|
o_O
Second time in a couple years NBC has dropped the ball. So what happens if this egg hits the fan and the ratings plummet like Conan. Will they panic like they did with Conan?? Unlike the dog Jay Leno, Keith ain't no dog. He won't come back, and thats NBC's fault. So for now MSNBC will have to start from scratch to rebuild my trust in them. Wish Bill Mahar was on some place I could get him w/o HBO

14. NBC is broadcast. MSNBC is cable. |
|
Slight difference there -- 5 million viewers for Tonight Show, about 1.3 million for Countdown. Unless you didn't mean that Keith is less significant because he only took $7 million instead of Conan's $33 million.
See how easy it is to find reality-based facts?

Rachel is about all that remains on the network worth watching. Odonnell's knee jerk reactions are exactly the stuff that gives the right so much ammo to use against us "pin head" libs.

She gets it, unlike so many on TV today. Keith has always seen that in her too, and I think she is very grateful to him for all he's done for her, and especially for all of us.

23. Keith had plenty of opportunity to slow the cadence and become more thoughtful and |
|
less fanatical ... liberal or not ... Stephen Colbert hit a homerun with his hilarious piece on KO last night ... I wish Keith could have gotten that message sooner then later and LISTENED ... I doubt Keith's ego would allow the input from Colbert .... then or now ... as constructive as it may be ... KEITH became bellicose and a bore ... his own worst enemy ... MSNBC tried to reason with him for some time and he would have none of it ... they had no choice and it was simply time for Keith to march on ...
I hope Rachel takes note and distances herself from her Oberlike personality mimic to find more of her own style ... for sometime now they seemed to mirror each others shoot from the hip, smart ass, look at me "style" and it has become OFFISH ... a silly bore ...
IMHO ....

Jack rabbit MIND!!!!!!!!!!! Why is it when dems try to fight back its wrong..be nice...don't say or do that???? The right wing butt heads are laughing their asses off and happy as a lamb that Keith is gone and with him goes the truth. Fox and the right wing radio and TV can get away with anything with the lies and BS..BUT WE GET FIRED OR QUIT FOR STANDING UP AND FIGHTING BACK. You need to get a life or at least the message.

27. Wish I believed the part about "We are not going anywhere." |
|
I have not looked at the evidence but I strongly suspect (and correct me if I'm off my rocker) that Keith was forced out, at least peripherally as a result of the NBC/Comcast merger. I think it is naive to believe that COMCAST will have no affect on the MSNBC primetime schedule beyond Keith's show. I am very nervous about Rachel's show.
