You can't dispute the numbers.

Obama created the deficit commission.

Obama has not said, "Social security has a dedicated funding mechanism that has provided funds to keep it in the black until 2037. Social security has never added one cent to the deficit but foolish spending on two wars, a terrible economy and tax cuts for millionaires have placed us in a fiscal crisis. To make social security solvent we must lift the cap."

Instead Obama agreed to cut FICA contributions! No wonder polls show people no longer trust Democrats on social security!

Obama remains murky on the issue when he could have used it to his/our advantage. This is just one of the many mysterious things about Obama. This does not compute.

Obama can turn this perception around in a single speech tonight. If he choses not to comment on social security, that it must be preserved at all costs with no increase in the retirement age, he might as well say he is for cuts. That is how I interpret the issue.
