1. oligarchy started with George W. Bush
I agree! The Christian churches, coupled with Big Corporations, and the Religious Republic Party aka Tea Party, have sought to put their brand of government into Washington...and they are succeeding.

Soon, this country will be controlled by the religious right, and all freedoms that they claim are being taken away by the left WILL be taken away by them. The first to go will be Freedom of Religion, then Freedom of Speech with book bannings and burnings, then Freedom of Assembly, and then a complete redoing of the Constitution to fit their religious fanaticism.

The Christian right will make radical Islamists seem like boy scouts.

3. I think it began after they pushed Clinton over the edge.
There was a lot of wheeling and dealing going on during Clinton's era. Probably why the dot coms were oversold. Look closer and you'll see that the Republican voter got really riled with him because there was too much that was getting sold, that shouldn't have been sold. Those pardons, for instance. Even if there was no money exchange, I know there was a lawyer from St. Pete who tried to sell pardons using his in-law's connections to the White house through a certain law firm. The guy got caught for fraud, but the fact that he was able to solicit the money at a time when this was an issue should tell you that some of what Clinton tried to do with those pardons may not have been all kosher.

4. For anyone interested, Sen. Sanders reference to oligarchy occurs at 6:02
into the video. His view has good company with John Nichol's who, too, has the same fear as expressed last night on MSNBC (comcast soon..lest we forget!). Actually, I don't 'think' we're moving into an oligarchy, I believe we are one....now and have been for some time. What's happening is that we're just awakening to that condition.
