Kucinich: What Will We Sacrifice for These Wars?

Kucinich Brings the Cost of War to Budget Debate1

WASHINGTON - January 24 - Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) today opened up the debate on efforts to cut the federal budget by pointing out that more than half of our discretionary spending is consumed by the budget for the Pentagon and asking what Americans are willing to sacrifice for war.

2. The president we SHOULD have had.
There was no reason to settle for this "come back, Scoop Jackson, all is forgiven" bullshit.

The war budget is the enemy of the Democratic Party.

4. totally agree with you
But it doesn't matter what his positions are, the MSM, party leaders and a the vast majority of so called liberals have proclaimed that he is unelectable, so nobody should take him seriously. Also he has seen a UFO, what a kooky weirdo.

3. from the article I spotted the reason we fight these senseless wars,
"Taxes have not been raised to pay for it - in fact, taxes on the rich have actually fallen"

5. If WE were asked to sacrafice....
..like the home front was asked to do in WWII, the troops would all be home now. These are wars being fought to prove new weapons systems - not rout a few Al Quida from their caves.

8. That's right, Peace Monger.
While taxes have fallen, instead we've given up our children's rights.

Along with everything that we built for them.

The payment won't be in made in dollars, because there is none.

So it will be paid in flesh and blood.

9. peoples' kids will be sacrificed
Edited on Tue Jan-25-11 08:34 PM by fascisthunter
the old will be sacrificed as well... but not the wealthy class' kids nor old. Instead for the wealthy class, our kids and old will be sacrificed, so they can remain wealthy... and they bitch and whine about paying more in taxes.

PS. - they don't give a damn about this country they think is just theirs.

Let's cut that in half..... Pay down the debt. Return people to their homes. Get money to small business.... Let's keep American jobs at home.... and not bargain them away......
