He's only the leader of a minority middle class political group.
Having said that the Egyptians may consider him to be better than nothing.
Question is would the US approve ? :sarcasm:
The largest political opposition group is the Muslim Brotherhood who to date have only been allowed to field candidates as independents.

I really hope the people of Egypt get what they deserve and not some power-hungry cretin that steps into the breach. They deserve better.
