The people of many countries love their dictators. Look at Haiti--Papa Doc is under house arrest only because of American pressure. They love the stability of a dictator and never expect to be victims themselves.

The U.S. cannot topple every dictator in the world..witness North Korea, China, Venezuela in our own hemisphere...and Cuba, of course.

The U.S. has to deal with each country whether we like their leaders or not. The alternative is to create a fake reason to invade, if they have oil, put Halliburton in there, kill over 4000 American troops, and watch the new leaders accept billions of dollars to pocket and give us the brown stinky finger while doing it.

I realise the US has a terrible job of keeping things in order around the world....

But is it neccesary to overthrow elected governments and put in brutal dictators in its place just because they might nationalize their natural resources US corporations wants? The US government never, ever, ever learn.

There is an islamist uprising going on in Uzbekistan now. Why? After all they were secularized by the Soviets. Because they have a regime that kills critics by boiling people alive. And the US is their staunch ally.

If a foreign government made sure your family suffered for generations, would you be pissed, or would you understand the difficult job that government has keeping the world in line?
