1. Simply excellent. Tells pretty much what the US is about. We are
pretty much Rome redux on steroids, with our leaders complicit as hell. The Egypt revolution must be successful, if for no other reason then to put fear in our corrupt leaders.

3. I agree.
I hope this wave of revolution reaches America. It is a great opportunity to throw of our corporate control and demand an end to U.S. military intervention in world politics.

2. I have to watch the rest of this speech.
This portion didn't really cover too much. I wish I had known Chomsky was at U.T., I would have been there, Somehow...

8. After watching Aljazeera live feed from Egypt I came to the conclusion on the major political
difference between the US and Egypt. In Egypt political power is inherited from generation to generation. In the US we have regular elections and we THINK things have changed. In the US we do have inherited political power granted by the oligarchs and limited to those who pass muster. Other than regular elections I don't see much difference politically.

10. It's worth spending a half hour
to learn about what's going on now, and its historical origins. Especially, here in the US.

"The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater."

I watched it all. It doesn't give one much hope for the future. Certainly any hope I had for Obama helping improve the future is long gone.

How bad will things get before the American working class wakes up to re-fight the entire 19th and 20th century labor struggles all over again?

17. Did anyone notice the slam on Chomsky written in tiny text on the bottom of the YouTube clip?
It doesn't appear until the 4:30 mark of the video.
