Noted Egyptian journalist and speaker Mona Eltahaway takes CNN to task for their sensational descriptions of the events in Egypt and call it for what it is: an uprising and a revolution.

And then the anchor uses "unrest" at the beginning of her next question. :banghead:

Anyway, this lady is one of my new heroes. Her blog is well worth checking out: http://www.monaeltahawy.com/blog/

1. I fucking hate CNN
I honestly wonder how anyone watches this station, the anchor was so passive aggressive towards the Egyptian journalist and tried to downplay everything she said. Stuff like this really makes me wonder what these anchors are being told by the executives and producers because it is obvious that some sort of agenda is being spread throughout this network. Then at the end, the asshole comes in and tries to make it seem like it was just her opinion that police were masquerading as protesters as if that hasnt already been widely reported by other news outlets.

Its strange because its like the people who run CNN dont want anyone to take the station seriously so they tell their anchors to act as obviously like corporate shills as possible so that anyone with half a brain knows not to watch.

3. They are afraid
Washington politicians and elites are always worried about Israel. And Mubarak's dictatorship was good for Israel. Which means these guys are not going to be cheering for a change when it may lead to a government more willing to help the Palestinians. This is a very touchy subject, and it can't be discussed openly by the media.

That stupid woman on CNN just DOES NOT GET IT..............is she really that ignorant?
I'm sure she thinks she knows more about the situation than the woman from Egypt....
wow.........such arrogance and stupidity on CNN.

5. Wow, I used to watch that channel years ago
How far they have fallen! I really don't see much distinction in the disdainful talking heads here and on Faux "News".

6. I am watching AC360 out of curiosity and I can't believe what I'm seeing
The whole team are in Egypt (allowed to film freely, unlike Al Jazeera English) and they are going on about the "looting", which most people know was carried out by Mubarak's thugs, and how frightened people are.

That's exactly what Mubarak intended, vanish all the police, release the secret service thugs (I've heard they have 750,000 in Egypt) & 1,000s of prisoners and make everyone so frightened they miss him.

Well, (even though AC360 are trying to perpetuate the myths) it seems like that tactic failed.
