1. Wait, I thought all Cenk ever did was rip Obama?!
That's what his haters claim. But I'm sure they'll just ignore this video and pop in the next time he's (rightly) critical of the president.

We despised most Republicans under Bush because they absolutely refused to criticize him. Let's not be guilty of that bullshit. Praise when due, criticize when due, period.

3. As far as I know, none of us here Ever refuses to give him credit
for the good policies he has. On many issues we may disagree on what policies are good ones, and that is why we argue. But on this I think we all will agree it is an absolutely excellent policy with out any argument at all.

Those few democrats who are opposing him on this (damn, I hope it is only a few), and insisting with republicans that Big Oil must receive an annual multi-billion dollar government subsidy are corrupt. They are clearly bought and paid for by corporate sponsors and they are not representing the people of this states on this.

If the corporate media wasn't shilling for the right-wing then maybe Obama could mount a public campaign to shame senators, and get voters to help shame them, to end these totally unnecessary and nationally harmful corporate subsidies.

But CEOs in any industry serve on too many boards of too many other corporations in any other industry. So every major corporation protects every other major corporation because of this inbreeding. That protection is especially true for media corporations that depend on advertising dollars. There is no way that (Comcast/NBC/Universal), or (Walt Disney/ABC), or (NewsCorp/Fox News/Wall Street Journal/Harper Collins), or (Time Warner/CNN/CBS), or (Viacom/Paramount) would ever help Obama get the word out that any industry needs to lose government subsidies.

Now, if he was proposing that Unions needed to lose support, they would all line up behind him immediately. If he wanted to propose that workers needed to lose some kind of subsidies they would jump all over themselves to provide positive coverage. But the idea of a corporation losing subsidies would never be allowed to get covered in a way that would gain traction.

4. I wish he said where he got his numbers. How much the subsidies are they need to stop but
I've hear a wire range on the subsidy number, and I've like to know better what it is. The New York Times said the oil industry is taxed at an effect rate of about 55 percent after the subsidies are taken into account. Other place I've seen side the oil companies come out ahead after the subsidies and have a effective negative tax rate.

That's because there's this bogus cry to reduce the corporate tax rate. It's tooooo high! No corporation will want to come to the US unless the corporate tax rate is comparable with Europe's!

This is all baloney because corporations NEVER pay all their taxes in the US, whatever the rate is. There are too many loop holes. The year Exxon made more profits than any corporation ever, in the billions of course, they paid ZERO TAXES. That is why Clinton enacted a minimum corporate tax they HAD to pay.... which was about the same percentage as the European rate. And voila! Surplus!

5. K&R !
That was one of the best ideas in the SOTU-- subsidize green technologies instead of big oil.

6. Credit
I only give credit to politicians when they actually do something. They always speak with forked tongue.
