1. The Dems should sign a pledge to do it of the Reps do it, too. nt

4. The reps would want a different pledge.
"We give up the things that we think others shouldn't have... you pay the taxes that you think others should be paying"

I doubt that either side would like the deal though.

8. Shared suffering?
If Democrats are willing to vote and have voted to extend health care to EVERYONE, why should they suffer without health care?

If we are moving toward a system where everyone matters, why should their children live without health care benefits?

5. I think we should start a movement to cut the retirement benefits of ex-Reps and ex-Senators by 50%,
pay out nothing for those who serve only 1 term, make them pay 40% of the cost of their health insurance, and reduce their salaries by 30%.

24. Hey, if we lost our jobs, healthcare goes out the window with it.
If they're not working for the government full time, then they shouldn't get health care from it. Period. If they want the rules to be different, they should consider everyone and not just their sorry asses.

calling on the tides to stop coming in and going out. It won't happen! Never a mis-communication.

30. "Andy Harris" -- the hypocrite Repub referred to at 2'40"
GOP Freshman Demands: Where's My Health Care?

Freshman Rep. Andy Harris won his seat by vowing to repeal the new health care law, but he's a little less cavalier about his own insurance plan. Harris may hate Obamacare, but Harris really hates that his own taxpayer-subsidized policy won't kick in for a whole month after he's sworn in to serve his first term as a Republican congressman.

The incoming Maryland representative surprised his fellow noobs at an orientation session Monday, Politico's Glenn Thrush reports, with his indignant response to learning that his health policy won't take effect till February 1, even though he'll take office January 3. Why should he go 28 days without health care? he asked. “Harris then asked if he could purchase insurance from the government to cover the gap,” a witness told Thrush, noting that Harris’s request was rather similar to "the public option he denounced as a gateway to socialized medicine."

Harris can perhaps be forgiven, given his inexperience in the wild west of the American health care system. “This is the only employer I’ve ever worked for where you don’t get coverage the first day you are employed,” he said.

The Atlantic Wire

"Hypocrite Repub?" Isn't that a redundancy?

Now I have a Cadillac deductible, but not a Cadillac Insurance plan.... Congress gets a Cadillac insurance plan without a Cadillac insurance deductible....
