The State Senator who found himself in the middle of a mob downplays the ordeal. Republican Glenn Grothman was chased outside the State Capitol last night by protestors, as he banged on windows and doors to try and get in.

The outspoken supporter of the budget repair bill had just come from giving a speech when he was recognized approaching the capitol. While walking around the building he accumulated followers who cried out, “shame, shame!”

While trying to enter the West Washington doors, Grothman got pinned by the massive crowd of about 200 people. Democratic State Representative Brett Hulsey of Madison used a bullhorn to try and control the mob who took photos and video.

Hulsey told the crowd that he and Grothman disagree on everything, but they’re friends and the protestors needed to back away.

Fire fighters who were in the area came to assist. The firefighters escorted both lawmakers safely through an underground entrance.
