2. Bottom line

It's the woman's body. Whatever is growing inside her is for her to deal with in any way she chooses. No other person or government can say anything about it. If the woman is agonizing about having an abortion and decides to do it, fine for her. If she decides to not do it, fine for her. If she likes getting pregnant and aborting fetuses for kicks, fine for her. It's her body. Once outside, then the state has some say about what limits people can do to the child.

I'm interested in what they meant by health care for ordinary folks. The whole point of HCR (especially the "too liberal" versions that were never considered or abandoned early as too unacceptable to "small government conservatives") is to ensure that people actually have a doctor with whom they can make their health care decisions.

Big Tent politics.

Haven't you noticed ever since Obama was elected the wingnuts have done everything in their power to lable Democrats as Marxist ideologues hell bent on the financial ruin of America through redistributive and nanny state entitlement policies bringing about the new Socialist state.

Every pub talking point revolves around that tactic and it worked.... It was mainly the healthcare debate here is an example.

Bart Stupak a pro-life Democrat that believed in his cause and had a caucus in the party, the Pubs used him as the anvil to bring the hammer of "see we told you the Democrats were inflexible ideologues" down on the issue of taxpayer funding for abortion, once Stupak's caucus allowed the HCR bill to move forward it was the move that allowed it to pass the house and that was also the proof that the GOP needed to swing independents to their idea of just how far left the democrats had become.

This has been their narrative and that is why democrats lost in the NOV elections and that is why the Democrats will lose even more elections unless that idea is changed.
