2. The simple (Republican) solution is privatization

Let the market resolve the situation. As the public school jobs disappear, the cream of the teaching profession will go into the private sector -where our kids are allowed to pray in school the way the Founding Fathers intended- and the public schools will get what's left over. After all, education should be a privilege not a right (or more accurately a right of the privileged) Working classes only need to know how to count to 100 and read road signs.
