Announcer: Welcome back to The David Pakman Show.
David: All right, welcome back to the show. In honor of Louis's metal band Krakatoa's big concert that's coming up, which we're going to detail about in the bonus show, we have set up a new membership special, www.DavidPakman.com/Louis. We're not talking about it on social media, we're not publishing it, it is just if you hear or watch this you will know about it. And you have to remember how to spell Louis's name. A lot of people don't. It's L-O-U-I-S. www.DavidPakman.com/Louis, special membership offer, go there, sign up, you don't want to miss it.
In Kentucky, a state Republican representative wants to legalize bullying by Christian students of gay students. The guy's name is Mike Harmon. Not like I need to tell you the guy's a Republican, I'm sure you know that. He wants to make it legal for Christian students to bully gay kids about their sexuality, and he has actually filed an amendment, Louis, to an anti-bullying bill saying students should be allowed to condemn other students' sexual preferences as long as the expression of a religious belief does not include physical harm.
So if someone in a conversation says what he really wants is students to be able to tell gay students homosexuality is a sin, that should be allowed, whether you yell it, whether you whisper it, whether you pass it in a note or in a threat, it can't be a physical threat, of course, that should be allowed. What do you think of that?
Louis: I think this amendment will...
David: Go in the trash where it belongs?
Louis: Clearly, and, well, just more wasting of time by these representatives.
David: And the Democrat who sponsored the bill responded... the original anti-bullying bill, he said, "I would ask Mike Harmon, 'What would Jesus do?' Would he bully people based on religion? I don't think so." You know, it's a good point, but honestly, religion just shouldn't even be a part of the discussion. I get the point; I dislike even using religion as a barometer for any bill. Let's stop that.
