3. OutFoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War On Journalism
"Outfoxed" examines how media empires, led by Rupert Murdoch's Fox News, have been running a "race to the bottom" in television news. This film provides an in-depth look at Fox News and the dangers of ever-enlarging corporations taking control of the public's right to know.

The film explores Murdoch's burgeoning kingdom and the impact on society when a broad swath of media is controlled by one person.

Media experts, including Jeff Cohen (FAIR) Bob McChesney (Free Press), Chellie Pingree (Common Cause), Jeff Chester (Center for Digital Democracy) and David Brock (Media Matters) provide context and guidance for the story of Fox News and its effect on society.

This documentary also reveals the secrets of Former Fox news producers, reporters, bookers and writers who expose what it's like to work for Fox News. These former Fox employees talk about how they were forced to push a "right-wing" point of view or risk their jobs. Some have even chosen to remain anonymous in order to protect their current livelihoods. As one employee said "There's no sense of integrity as far as having a line that can't be crossed."

5. WAL-MART: The High Cost of Low Price
WAL-MART: THE HIGH COST OF LOW PRICE is a feature length documentary that uncovers a retail giant's assault on families and American values.

The film dives into the deeply personal stories and everyday lives of families and communities struggling to fight a goliath. A working mother is forced to turn to public assistance to provide healthcare for her two small children. A Missouri family loses its business after Wal-Mart is given over $2 million to open its doors down the road. A mayor struggles to equip his first responders after Wal-Mart pulls out and relocates just outside the city limits. A community in California unites, takes on the giant, and wins!

6. Iraq for Sale: The War Profiteers
Iraq for Sale: The War Profiteers is the story of what happens to everyday Americans when corporations go to war.
Acclaimed director Robert Greenwald (Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price, Outfoxed and Uncovered) takes you inside the lives of soldiers, truck drivers, widows and children who have been changed forever as a result of profiteering in the reconstruction of Iraq. Iraq for Sale uncovers the connections between private corporations making a killing in Iraq and the decision makers who allow them to do so.

I've been a proud contributor to Greenwald's films before and was proud to contribute to this one AND email the clip to everyone I know; regardless of political affiliation.

the rich greedy owners, CEO, VP & executives, that have and will continue to donate & contribute to the republicans giving them tens of millions of dollars to the republican party, the party of the rich, as their ultimate goal remains for complete privatization of everything owned by the people (government) for the corporate profit of a few, the rich while all we will receive is corporate collusion = high prices to the consumers by these same union busting republicans, union busting wealthy and their union busting corporations.

The rich and their corporations have absolutely initiated class warfare- and have accelerated it the past 30 years by the republican party's ideology & agenda and it continues today FULL BLOWN class warfare against the middle-class workers, unions & small business!

13. Agreed. But the Koch thing is BIGGEST and best example to use to begin the education. Still...
I hope mention of just what you described is inserted in the film along with an eye/brain freeze moment on some chart that will finally enrage "the other 98%" of us along with a similar snap-out-of-it moment regarding defense spending!

But I've been so angry for years at so many, some close friends of mine who refuse to understand, who can't/won't comprehend the power of supporting local businesses instead of the Walmarts, Targets, and ever-present chain franchise restaurants, coffee shops, etc. I understand the need of the poor to seek out the absolute lowest prices but my friends and I can still afford to give our business to our neighborhood business owners and yet they still shop the warehouses and brag about the deals. We're at the point now where we have fewer and fewer choices to make because of that total population buy-in of "the deal".

It's hard to continue living in a constant state of anger about what's happening PLUS anger at those who don't seem to want to understand enough to even care. Know what I mean?

19. Stop the Corporate Takeover of the Media
__________
Sen. Al Franken (D.-Minn.) told more than 2,000 bloggers and organizers attending the Netroots Nation conference in Las Vegas on July 24, 2010, that our media system is at risk everywhere we turn - from our free speech online to the growing power of companies who own a massive number of media outlets.
