Today, U.S. Senators from across the country stood with advocates for homeless veterans to oppose a provision in Republicans' reckless spending proposal that would cut 10,000 housing vouchers that would keep homeless veterans off the streets next year.

GOP Budget Cuts May Hit Homeless Veterans Hard

Among the more controversial GOP budget cut proposals is an effort to kill $75 million that’s slated to house homeless veterans.

It’s the cut that Democrats like to point to when they accuse of Republicans of going too far. And Democrats have even started to make it a campaign issue.

Republicans are quick to point out that the cuts won’t impact veterans who were homeless but now receive housing vouchers. Vouchers give homeless veterans a place to live for a year and can be renewed annually, assuming federal funding is available

The cuts would hurt some 11,000 homeless veterans who have already qualified for housing this year but have yet to receive vouchers.

1. Republicans don't give a damn about Veterans

UNLESS they can USE THEM. The Republicans don't even support the troops now overseas, fighting the war they created. They only care about lining their pockets, and being lap dogs to the Corporations. You make a Soldier, Sailor or Marine go fight, and then when they get home to the States, they have to live in a box shelter in the snow?

Thats how Republicans salute the Veterans? May their Republican souls rot painfully in hell.
