This is almost beyond belief! The Tsunami literally destroys hundreds of buildings, homes, etc., in seconds! I have never seen anything like it!!

1. Its so hard to see all those buildings tumble

Knowing there are families in many of those houses who probably didn't have time to get to higher ground.

I remember seeing once, a documentary about a town in Japan, that had huge high walls that were curved, and were used in case of Tsunami. Once one heard the sirens, you would run behind these huge curved walls. The curvature would carry the water away from the town. It was a kind of deflector wall.

I don't think the town with that protection had any problems this time, because they were on the other side of Japan, and there for not affected.

I can see a day, when perhaps Japan may have to build more of those huge walls, just to divert the water. It may ruin everyones scenery, but would save many more lives.

4. I lived in Japan for 9 years and just moved back last year with my wife.

She is over there now in Osaka and is thankfully safe along with her family. This is truly scary and I worry for my friends and their families.

Why is there a cynic in me waiting to hear from televangelist that it was the massive godlessness or some other thing that caused it?

Either he won't send help quick enough, or he will be diverting resources from Americans who need them. He won't win.
