1. Good footage. We are also having some continuing surges, but nothing like yesterday.
I have some video of cat harbor that I am going to try and edit and post later today.

4. Yes indeed a 16' boat was sunk this AM while I slept not far away!
http://www.vcstar.com/news/2011/mar/12/tsunami-advisory-called-off-dangers-remain-from/

Though the tsunami advisory has been canceled for the Ventura County area, tidal surges are expected today that could be hazardous for anyone on the water.

Surges overnight caused damage at Ventura Harbor, sinking one boat.

The Ventura Harbor Patrol reported that a strong surge around 2 a.m. sank a 16-foot boat and broke a dock in half, according to the National Weather Service's overnight storm report.

And that explains the oil I see floating around my dock!

2. One of those dumb fuckers from Crescent City is still missing
Outside Brookings, Ore., just north of the California border, four people went to a beach to watch the waves and were swept into the sea. Two got out on their own, and the others were rescued, authorities said.

In Crescent City, Calif., miles to the south, the Coast Guard searched for a man who was swept out to sea. He was taking photos near the mouth of the Klamath River. Two people with him jumped in to rescue him. They were able to get back to land, authorities said.

5. You live in Crescent City?
Years ago I went to College of the Redwoods, and lived up the Smith River, past Hiouchi, in a little subdivision called Rock Creek.
