Some thoughts from a moment I took today down by the river side. I think they relate to what's going on in the world today.

10. Indeed. Truer words were never spoken. Of course, those among us who
worship technology fail to understand that truth.

3. What is this crap?
Unrecced! Oversimplification of complex issues.

Right now S is effed-up and any efforts people make to make things better for the world get resisted and there's no telling how high things will escalate just because of a few selfish people holding all the cards who don't want to share.

EVENTUALLY, maybe we'll get to look back on this and say "whew! glad that's over" if we make it through this.

Ultimately nothing matters. In the Grand Scheme the Sun could explode and take the entire solar system with it and even that is insignificant, but for our intents and purposes things are not looking good right now I'm sad to report.

just trying to put a little perspective on the macro. We are not large, in any sense. Any of us.

To me, this realization leads to transcendence, and the shedding of fear. It's what drives my political activism.

8. I was just channelling a little George Carlin
and everybody jumps all grumpy on me.

Hope you enjoyed your trip to the river.

9. Regardless of whether it is oversimplification or not
I enjoyed my little trip to the river. Which one is it?
I spend a lot of time up on the Mississippi in the summers. This reminds me of the backwaters near Merrick State Park... It doesn't really matter where it is though. It is beautiful.

Thanks for sharing.

13. Stillwater River
just north of Dayton, Ohio. It runs through my back yard, and I am a fortunate soul because of it. Great fishing, beautiful birds (I love the blue heron).

Thanks very much!
