1. Dana Loesch reinforces my beliefs on how misinformed and ignorant the teabaggers are.
Edited on Sun Mar-13-11 07:36 PM by bulloney
First, she thinks Michele Bachmann should be mentioned among the top contenders for the Republican nomination for president. That should say enough, but there's more.

She was arguing over the point made by Maher that Blue States tend to pay out more in federal taxes than they receive, while Red States tend to receive more than they pay out. That's an indisputable fact that would take a few minutes to Google to find out. But, then again, that's a teabagger. They're too damned lazy to research when they have the Limbaugh's and Hannity's and others reinforcing their preconceived notions of the world.

She argues again during New Rules when Maher points out that 80% of the new wealth in this country generated between 1980 and 2005 went to the richest 1%. I don't know if she's arguing if it's true or if she sees nothing wrong with such an income disparity.

I was disappointed in Begala. He should have thrown everything she said back at her in spades. She left herself so open to rebuttals it wouldn't have been pretty. But, for some reason, Begala didn't seem to have the edge in his comments that he normally would.

Loesch got defensive and corrected Maher when he referred to them as teabaggers. Tough shit! That's what the teabaggers called themselves when they were formed. If they were too stupid and lazy to realize that teabagging is also a name of a sex act involving the male sex organ, then they can live with it.

What's with the 2-1 majority of RWers on the panel?

6. great analysis
Bill prefers more than one Right winger on his panel as it makes for better discussion. I tend to agree. Without their interjections the show would just be a "lets all say things about the people who aren't here". There is nothing intellectually stimulating about that.

I would much rather comment on video from Fox news than a video of people holding hands in Wisconsin.

Another reason for the the panel guest is they draw in viewers that normally wouldn't be exposed to such discourse.

7. Too painful to watch all the way through
Edited on Sun Mar-13-11 09:12 PM by 2banon
BM is intellectually out of his league, and this should have been an easy one, even for him. I don't understand why in the hell he plays the "fair and balanced" routine boggles on his show. It's HBO for crissakes. Paul Begala's responses to these teabaggers is just nothing short of pathetic.

3. That has to be the only reason she has a job with CNN, because it isn't because she's smart.

4. I read your analysis of the show and it was dead on
There is disconnect that would make Fox News contributors blush.

She studied dance for 16 years? - now I remember her, she has a new look - sooooo she learned showmanship. There is only one other reason that she has been put forward by the powers running he "grass roots movement" that is the Tea Baggers.

8. Ha, Davis is one of my Government professors at GMU.
Obviously I disagree with most of his views but he makes a good point about Libya while Loesch is foolish to suggest that a multilateral effort to support the people who have actively chosen to oppose their government is the same as us going into Iraq on our own because *we* decided to throw out Saddam without any future plans and a huge lie about WMD's. Not sure if I'd call Mitch Daniels the real deal; perhaps from a conservative point of view he represents the party well but based on what I saw of him on Meet the Press today he 's not quite ready for prime time. Should be a fun discussion in class next week!
