Cenk Uygur on Republicans trying to blame President Obama for rising gas prices. They claim he won't allow domestic drilling which has resulted in the increased cost, but the president claims the attempted revolution in Libya and other unrest in Middle Eastern countries is at fault. Cenk sets the record straight.

...during the Bush administration. Then, there were hints of collusion among the oil companies with the administration looking the other way. There was no war, no catastrophies, no nothing special.

Thanks to the "Thunder Horse" platform coming online, US domestic oil actually went up a little bit recently, which is unusual. We're a very mature oil region and oil production has been on a steady (with a few exceptions) downward slope for the last 40 years.

Since our oil reserves are a tiny fraction of the world's, our production doesn't affect global oil prices that much, so saying Obama is blocking oil drilling which is causing oil prices to go up is very dumb.

Of course, if Bush was President this same clown would be praising Bush for increased domestic oil production and how Bush's wise policies are putting us on the track to energy independence. Probably some variant of "we'll cut the deficit in half in 5 years." (remember that one? HA HA HA HA).
