1. Lawrence has been showing some real gumption
and that is good.

Speaking as a Minnesotan (represented by Keith Ellison, thankfully) whose district borders Batshit Bachmann's, I can partially answer LO'D's question. She has a carefully gerrymandered district that includes a lot of redder-than-red exurbs filled with snowbillies and even then only manages to get 52-53% of the vote. How she has held on is something of a mystery, but she is a recipient of dumptrucks full of out-of-state cash supplied by the vilest of reichwing organizations. I guess that must explain it.

12. O'Donnell allows too many republicans on his show spewing their lies....
Edited on Tue Mar-15-11 02:15 PM by LaPera
without much debate from O'Donnell who seems to believe that's it's the best way to keep republicans coming on his show....hence, I suppose, O'Donnell also believes, that by having lying slimy republicans on his show is good for his ratings? Hardly!

O'Donnell can be great, kick ass and blistering but only if it's something that moves his passion - And that just doesn't happen often enough for this liberal progressive...So I quit watch O'Donnell's "Last Word" and I wait for Rachel Maddow each evening....I've pretty much given up on on Lawrence O'Donnell's middle of the road, don't offend lying republicans (except occasionally, as in this video)

The reality is the republicans can't exist if truth is out there...the only way the republicans can rise is via political violence, stolen elections and lies --

has always been thus --

and every pebble of truth is a threat to their myths --

Keep on tossin' those pebbles!! - defendandprotect

O'Donnell many times doesn't even toss a single pebble when republicans are spewing their bullshit on his show....

herself perform like a clown. The question should be is how much does she ask in donations to rise to and remain on the top of clowns in popularity bringing embarassement to herself, family, relatives, staff, tie and pearls country club set of Republicans. Then there is the moneyed set who pay her to speak. Are they embarassed or is that exactly why she is invited ..... to say something embarassing that she hasn't said before for the purpose of developing a wider following - as in a run for President?

Yep, don't concentrate on her brain - concentrate on the brains of the those who make the lies out of trugh on behalf of feeding the voters who only think narrowly in a no light existence.

She is now at the top of the clown set. Even Ann and Sarah have slipped below. Below those two are Malkin, Limbaugh, Hannity., Robertson, etc. The only one close to her at about a 1/2 foot is Beck.

with SC.... land of Strom Thurman.... right below us. The reason these two got voted in year after year after year is because of a good-ol'-boy network and the fact that the folks at home got what they wanted. Let Storm get wheeled up to the capital and drool all over himself. They still got what they wanted AT HOME. (Jesse was a lot smarter, but still in the same scam)

I imagine Michel has a similar gig. Let her be nuts and embarrassing... as long as we get what we want at home. "She's so dumb even WE can manipulate her."

Those that do love her and hire her to speak don't even hear what she's actually saying. It's just a hazy, starry-eyed blur of some sort of crap they already agree with.... whatever it is. Like La Sarah, it's all buzz words and bumper stickers.

18. Minnesota local RW radio
On Saturday, I listened FM 100.3 and the big topic was Keith Ellison's tearful testimony during King's commitee. They thought it was just HILARIOUS "boooo hoooo wahh wahh" lots of Beavis and Butthead juvenile comments. Then host Sue Jeffers, a rabid hater who makes Ann Coulter sound like Mother Theresa, was ranting on the local "SOMALIAN" immigrants. Now, the proper term is "Somali", not "Somal-ian", but she is too ignorant to know that. So she is ranting and foaming at the mouth about "those Somalians" and it's like waving a flag that says "I know so little about this topic, that I am not even aware of the proper terminology, but will blather about it anyway". Why is the 6th so freakin stupid? These are their sources.

36. That is what I hope changes, of course.
I'm saying the district should be gerrymandered to be a competitive district. By definition "to divide unfairly and to one's advantage" means to someone else's in my usage!

23. The answer to O'Donnell's Question
Question #1? How ignorant is Michelle Bachman

Answer to question #1 Michelle Bachman attended & graduated from Oral Roberts University

Question #2 Where did Michelle Bachman get her "shockingly ignorant staff"

Answer to question #2 I haven't investigated this, but I would hazard to guess many of them attended Oral Roberts University

Question #3 Who are the ignorant voters that elected Michelle Bachman

Answer to question #3 I would put money on the answer being that they donate to Oral Roberts University
I would put money down on they watch and donate to the charlatan preachers on TV
I would guess that they are patsies and shills for evangelical con artists

***On January 4, 1987, Roberts launched his most notable campaign to date. Roberts told his followers that if he did not raise a total of 8 million dollars by March, God was going to take his life … Comparing himelf to the apostle Paul, Roberts begged not to let Satan defeat him. “God” he says, “clearly told me he needs me here on earth. And here’s why — because of all the ministries, this ministry is the only one God has on this earth that owns a medical school.” … Some time later, Oral’s son, Richard, took pen in hand to warn of his father’s impending doom. Without “the additional $4,500.000.” explains Richard, “God will not extend Dad’s life” He then pleads, “Partner, we cannot let this man of God die. There is no reason for him to die.” … After sternnly warning, “IF YOU NEGLECT TO PAY ATTENTION … then Satan will take advantage and hit you with bad things and you will wish that 1985 had never come, “ Roberts closed his letter with a hard sell. Sending a seed-faith gift will not only enable you to “STOP SATAN IN HIS HATE TO BRING YOU DOWN,” it will also “help you get your hundredfold return.” (Roberts raised the money and did not die.)

When I was a child, I lived in Tulsa OK, land of Oral Roberts. My parents were well educated, my father had worked for the Pentagon and was a teacher and an artist. They had many friends that came over to our house. I remember them laughing and making fun of Oral Roberts and calling him a "flim-flam man".

If they had only realized how dangerous he was, they would have had no qualms about running him out of town on a rail.

31. short answer to #3: they're christians
that unique twisted ignorant brand of christian you describe so well in your post Caretha. not Christians at all actually, of course, in that they have no clue what Jesus of Nazareth actually preached, but that uniquely American brand of idiot, who'll buy the magic 'get out of hell free by faith alone!' tripe, yet loudly denounce anyone else getting any kind of 'hand-out' on the grounds that it's 'immoral'. In short, the mindless plankton that the giant RW vampire squid thrives on, sucking them in the front hole and expelling them out the rear as it moves inexorably forward propelled by their extracted energy.

30. since when do republicans care about historical facts?
Edited on Wed Mar-16-11 07:25 AM by florida08
They write their own history. Naturalized citizens know more about this country than the native born. The teabaggers gave themselves their own name till they found out what it meant. Yet they don't even understand what the Boston tea party was about. If they did they wouldn't be supporting corporate interest over America. I'm not even sure what they're protesting because taxes have not been raised. They're ticked about the bailouts but have missed altogether Bernanke's printing frenzy to the cons of Wall St.

Republicans we know here were not aware of Rick Scott's past history of defrauding Medicare. They're all about the moment not history. To say these Americans have a short memory is disingenuous. They were not paying attention to begin with. Shallow? Why yes they are. They only respond to their kind of stimulus. Democrats are evil socialists, hippies, abortionists, homos, ungodly and unamerican and immigrants are even below that.

How you deprogram cultists I don't know.

32. This power structure has to do with compliance, not intelligence.
The message to everyone is clear, that this form of power cannot be questioned even if it makes no logical sense, even if they ignore facts, scientific data, historic events, or even what was said yesterday and recorded on film.

Their power structure has to do with blind obedience, their willful ignorance cannot be reasoned with, only replaced by those who demonstrate values that represent what America stands for. Every one of them needs to be recalled, replaced, and worked around.

If I learned one thing from GWB's reign, and 911, it was this: "This is what we are capable of, counter us and we will destroy you." It is the same cocky, smarmy, cold and ruthless face the RW has had since they killed JFK and MLK, they are berzerkers---crazy clowns, and every last one of these bastards needs to be taken out of office.
