I really like DR but sometimes he does make poor choices. There really wasn't a need to have "both sides" discuss this matter on his show, since presumably the anti-Manning forces have had an enormouse amount of air time on all the shows. It would have been far more interesting to have been able to hear Hamsher discuss the issues of concern without that lizard brain spewing his propaganda. Shame on Ratigan acting as the enabler.

6. DR is great and he was right. |
|
It is his show and he doesn't like people talking over each other. He always allows someone to rebut what the other person has just said. It would have looked a lot better on Hamsher if she had let the point be completed and then stated that what he said wasn't true. Instead all of the time was wasted asking for the guests not to talk over each other. Even after he asked the first time she immediately spoke over him again. She was correct on the point but the only thing anyone really got out of that is that she won't let someone finish talking even after the segment has been paused to ask for the allowance of someone to complete their point before they start their turn. I don't like interviews where people talk over each other a lot. You can't hear anything. Chris Matthews has a bad habit of allowing guests to talk over each other (on top of him continuously talking over and interrupting guests over and over and over and over) and I don't like those segments regardless of the quality of the argument. She would have been able to say a lot more if she had waited for her turn and those extra points she would have been able to make might have been enough to convince more people that she was right.

8. I agree with you totally |

she apparently thought she was on faux noise. As much as I agree with her, she should have let him finish and then rebutted him.

9. It wasn't necessary for the anti-Manning pov. on his show at all.. |
|
didn't need to have talking heads debating the issue. The anti-Manning sock puppets are out in full force which include columnists and other media types defending his treatment. The "balance" that was required in this instance, was to allow Hamsher the floor without having to debate the merits of his treatment which is essentially what the creep did, despite the premise that he's against torture. In other words it was a set up and Hamsher was being sucker punched.

11. I disagree. Once a lie is out there it is hard to reverse. The guy was a liar plain and simple. |
|
So better to shout him down and not even let him get his talking points out. Because once they are out, someone, somewhere, is going to believe him and thus the damage is done.
We have got to understand that we are facing an enemy here that is trying to distort the truth in every possible way. Not an inch of ground should be ever given to this enemy.

is simply to intimidate future potential whistle blowers. It seams Obama is even more of a coward then Bush when it comes to truth to power.
