6. Republicans deserve to be mocked
This has nothing to do with saving money or creating jobs. It's nothing but a bunch of political payback.

Maybe John Boehner can take to the floor and cry about how the Democrats are picking on him.

15. Humor is the best medicine. Get rid of Godfry for making a failed attempt at humor.
Yet Hate mongers are still on the air. Seriously anyone look at Godfry's tweets before I guess whatever he said offensive. Big tall scary looking black man next to him. Look at photo.. oh he's just having a ball. I would have serious doubts that he hated the black guy.

Bleh Aflac killed it's duck and rightly so.

have no clue who click and clack or smack and whatever are. Shall we go for Red Green. I'm guessing if we started saying Republicans wanna ban Red Green they'll lose the south :P defund NPR is to defund PBS.. PUBLIC broadcasting station zzz PUBLIC!!!! Yes the Public whats republicans to defund their Public station.. zzzzzzz. Top priority. Lose more jobs. Just go to Wisconsin where there'll definitely be more jobs lost. Which might be a problem because it's in a state of anarchy. Flagrant law breaking. Wild west Wisconsin. The defunct Unicorn in Middleton would be dismayed..

14. Senate should vote to de-power this idiotic republican congress.
It would be an unconstitutional move much like Bush, Walker, and any crazy Right Winger feels they have the omnipotent right to do. Just vote the majority and take away their right to cast votes and govern. They are too stupid to make rational decisions and they are not acting in the public's interest. De-power them. They are either totally corrupt or totally ignorant. Either way they cannot be trusted to make decisions for our country.

16. Emergency. Imagine. Here I am who stopped/reduced donations for budget reasons - but mostly
Edited on Thu Mar-17-11 07:42 PM by peacetalksforall
because I become furious about the turn from what I thought was neutral to the right after the Helms, Thurmond, Burton, Republican attack on NPR in ???? (year?).

I had to stop listening to certain news and political commentary shows. I became furious. Even segments that weren't political would turn me off. And their executive level bias to the right would have me spinning.

So for a few years I would only send 2/7ths - proportionate to the weeto cover the weekend programs.

So hear I am furious that they are right wing and Republicans STILL think that NPR is left leaning - EVEN AFTER HELMS THRUMOND BURTON AND OTHERS WON xxxx number of years ago.

Sick sick sick - they are sick.
Emergency - the gall of them.

Emergency = to ride off the backs of the O'Keefe/Breitbart win?

... were bankrupting this country. It was obscene.

And to think we considered them too large to fail and almost gave them bailout money. Thank God again that we didn't fall into THAT trap.

32. Weiner has a biting satirical wit. But,
The Up side of this is NPR now owes the G.O.P. absolutely nothing! For the remainder of the year it's truth time. This whole thing May be more blow-back for the G.O.P.

36. I love Car Talk and I don't even own a car.
I love sitting in bed Saturday morning listening to the fascinating things people go through for their automobiles.

When my first niece turned 16, I bought her an emergency car kit for her birthday and told her to start listening to them.

So glad Republicans have their priorities straight.

39. Weiner Mocks GOP, That's the thing he's revealing the GOP
Weiner is taking up where Allen Grayson was, telling the world that the Republicans have no plan. With Grayson it was health care, Weiner about the "seriousness" of de-funding NPR. Mocking is to attack or treat with ridicule, contempt, or derision. True, that fits here, but it's more that he is revealing, to lay open to view; display; exhibit. (both sited from Dictionary.com)

We need a whole congressional delegation of people like Weiner and Grayson. Unfortunately, with Citizen's United, we will see millions of corporate dollars poured into the next election to defeat real Americans like they did with Grayson. The Repubs only work if they can work in secret, they only function if they can hide their true nature. So they will go after those revealing with gusto and zeal. Is Grayson still in Congress?

We are near a tipping point in this country. When you have Comcast merging to control not only the media, but the actual delivery system (internet), that Repubs would go after NPR. The ink isn't even dry on the merger and corporate media is going after the last media outlet they can't control the message.

The people's uprisings in Egypt, Iran, and Tunisia, all were powered by people communicating through sources not controlled by a powerful few. Oh they tried, but it was too late. With few hands now on the pipeline, who's to say if DU all of a sudden has massive slow-downs and 404 errors? Net neutrality is one of the few ways to save this dwindling Democracy.

I am heartened by the demonstrations in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ohio, but this has to translate to votes, period. We can not stop until these secretive, evil (yes, I said it), un-American repubs are removed from the halls of our government. By the way, I can say un-American because of the Governor in Michigan putting forth the plan to assign his people to go into local governments to dissolve them? That's what the King of England did before this country was founded, it was one of the reasons we declared our independence!!! So yes, these idiots are un-patriotic and un-American and for that should be removed from office!!!

We could use some from the Democratic Party Leadership too.

Who will STAND UP and represent THIS American Majority?
Platitudes, Rhetoric, Empty Promises, and Excuses are meaningless now.

"By their WORKS you will know them,"
And by their WORKS they will be held accountable.
