Rethink Afghanistan
Mar 16, 2011

General David Petraeus told the Senate Armed Services Committee on March 15, 2011 that he "understands the frustration" with the Afghanistan War, and conceded that "we've spent an enormous amount of money." But it's clear that he doesn't understand the depth of the public's disgust with the war. 64 percent of Americans now say the war isn't worth fighting, and most likely voters want troops out within a year, according to recent polls. The war isn't making us safer, and it's not worth the cost.
