This is a clip from John Edwards speaking to the NEA convention in Philadelphia in July. Edwards came out with his education plan yesterday:

1. I agree with everything he said
but I'd like to hear someone address the role of PARENTS in the learning of their children, especially in K-8. Teachers start the learning process by introducing new concepts and skills, and parents should be reinforcing those lessons at home by working with their students. I don't know why this seems lost of the general public at large and even other educators.
