In Libya itself, the international coalition says aerial strikes have successfully halted the forces of Colonel Gaddafi. There are reports over 60 people have been killed so far. The U.S. says it has fired 12 more cruise missiles at targets on Monday, and Canadian planes have now joined the action. Coalition forces say Colonel Gaddafi himself is not a target, despite a strike on his compound. John Laughland from the Institute of Democracy and Co-operation in Paris says the campaign could move beyond aerial bombardment.

3. It's the former Empire powers and Current one
It's the former Imperial Colonialists joining with the current sole Imperial Empire (USA) to play policeman.

Australia (My Country) is just the little toadie that does what the USA tells it to. (Unless you weren't aware we used to do what the UK told us, now since WW2 we take commands from the USA. I'm sure you Americans would hate being told what foreign policy to have, but that's life down under).

I contend that there well may be times when the international community should intervene, but I have my doubts about this one. There are too many American fingers in all sorts of War Pies.

I think it's time for the allies to scale back their MIC and to enact some War regulations (ie. No foreign illegal prisons, and no private outsourcing of Military operations)
