Victoria Jackson, the former "Saturday Night Live" star and now tea party activist, made an appearance on Headline News' "Showbiz Tonight" on Monday to address the furor she caused with the homophobic comments about the Fox high school choir dramedy in her newest column for WorldNetDaily.

In the column, Jackson wrote in response to an emotional, long awaited kiss between two gay characters, one of whom is played by Golden Globe winner Chris Colfer. "Did you see "Glee" this week? Sickening! And, besides shoving the gay thing down our throats, they made a mockery of Christians - again! I wonder what their agenda is? Hey, producers of "Glee" - what's your agenda? One-way tolerance?"

"They should have a celibacy campaign and tell kids that 50% of teenagers now have this new STD from oral sex, that's what they should try to be doing instead of making kids gay," the former actress continued. "I just want to know why the liberals are pro-muslim and pro-gays. Muslims kill gays. That's what's confusing to me. And the only thing I can come up with is the Mulims hate God and the gays hate his word."

To be fair, Jackson did desperately yell that she had gay friends as the segment closed on her. She may not be getting calls from those friends anytime soon.

Don't re-confabulate (is that a word?). Back in the day, Victoria was funny, she was cute, she seemed to be connected with reality. I loved her on SNL. But she and Dennis Miller just went nutso. Maybe it's the old cliché about Dems only being Dems until they make some money. It's not true for most of us, but for some of 'em, like Dennis and Victoria, clearly having a few bucks turned them into hateful, narcissistic assholes.

Dennis Miller used to have a show on HBO, vaguely similar to Bill Maher's. It was all political/current events humor with A-List guests. It was hysterical, appointment tv (this was before On-Demand cable). He was on "our" side. He ended each show with a bit very much like Bill's "New Rules," except it used the week's news photos with captions added to them. It was brilliant. But then Bush got elected, and I assume Miller was worth considerably more money...and he went to the dark side. He turned 180 degrees. Now, he's doing stand-up in supper clubs in New Jersey. Victoria Jackson? Also a very funny comedienne back when she was playing the lovable dufus. I don't know what happened to her, because I doubt she made enough money to worry about tax policies. A couple of shitty movies, nothing much since then. But that doesn't negate the fact that she became "Victoria Jackson" because she had a schtick and it was funny and people liked her. Me included.

Now I don't. I don't like certain family members, either. But that doesn't have to mean they were ALWAYS terrible. Some people devolve.
