1. Good for them! What if they gave a war and no one came? This exposes |

This exposes the savagery of the bombing now, the lies pretending there's no collateral damage and the coy "refusing to deny" as in the case of Admiral Locklear. Rec'd and reposted in GD. Thanks for posting this Charleston Chew http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=439

One man's conscience is another man's mutiny. From MASH TV version, when a bombardier could no longer get his thumb to press the button
Flagg: It doesn't work this way. First one man refuses to fight. Then another, then another. Pretty soon you know what you've got?
Hunnicutt: Peace?

4. "Just Following Orders"... is NOT a valid excuse, |
|
even if: 1)You have a Note from your Lawyer (Bush the Lesser)
or
2) The Pentagon Assures you it is A-OK! (Obama)
Congrats to the Canadian Pilots. Canada looks Better & Better each passing day.
Sigh, my wife & I had a chance in 2006, but chose to stay in the USA.

11. My son just got his acceptance letter..... |
|
My son just got his acceptance letter to Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver B.C. (we are US citizens). It's a great are school in a great city (which is why he applied of course) so we're very excited. The fact that it gives him a foot in the door north of the border is something I certainly am not upset about the way things are heading here. Oh, and as an added bonus? Since the Canucks are all such pussies and don't make enough bombs and things to drop and launch them, they end up having extra money lying around to support education, can you imagine such a thing? The tuition for my son, as an international student no less, is about half of what we'd have to pay in the states for a comparable school. Damn socialists. Where are their priorities?

It shows that Canadians use their judgment and are not robots. We up here were happy to hear this news.

the wreckage?....Shouldn't there be only a hole in the ground..with no visible remains?...At least that's the reality of airplane crashes since Sept. of 2001.

10. Wonder what the targets were. |

Edited on Wed Mar-23-11 05:17 PM by DFab420
And if any civilians have been killed by whatever they didn't blow up.
If they weren't targets that were dangerous to civilians then Good on them!

and I used to pick up CBC Calgary on the tube quite easily. They do hard news, not fluff, and their doc series like The Fifth Estate and The Passionate Eye make Our Glorious Free Press look like pansies.

...when then bombed civilians, that's a better outcome?

19. Yes, It proves Canadians are not trained flying monkeys. |
|
They're in command, and Will MAKE Libya kill the civilians themselves, Without our jet fuel and Mega million dollar bombs.
Still a question that will be asked though.

You make it sound like they were refusing orders to fire. Quite the contrary, they were following orders. They have standing orders not to fire if there is too much risk of collateral damage. These are the same standing orders that other members of the coalition follow. In fact, in the video you posted the Canadian aviator who was interviewed actually praised the mission that he was on.

Obama states no American feet on the ground and limits the fighting to air strikes all for political purposes knowing full well that there will be collateral damage i.e., innocent civilians will be killed. Granted that feet on the ground wouldn't eliminate collateral damage but the deaths would be far less. You either fight a war or you don't fight a war. And if you fight a war you don't fight a half assed one,you use whatever resources you have, both ground and air. If this war was being fought purely for the purposes of freeing the Libyan people then that's what would be happening but what we have is a situation where Obama is trying to satisfy too many opposing views, again for political reasons, and the Libyan people are being used as pawns. Not much different than the last administration and a distinct lack of both character and leadership on the part of Obama. He thought that Gaddafi would back off after the first couple of days, give up his leadership and head for the hills. Another political gamble and who the hell cares, just another bunch of us people getting the shitty end of the stick. So much for Obama being a leader of the free world. So far those Canadian pilots have been the only ones showing true leadership in refusing to murder innocent people.
