Several UN members - including Russia - have expressed their concern over the risk to civilians as NATO forces continue their bombardment in Libya. While civilians are still at threat from Colonel Gaddafi's seemingly undeterred armies, they also now risk the danger of so called 'collateral damage' from the allies. Deathly Gifts of NATO’s Merciful Angel, Serbia

Belgrade: A leading Serbian expert in the field says NATO’s use of depleted uranium ammunition in it’s aggression against Serbia has caused an enormous increase in cancer rates and the number of newborns with genetic malformations.

Silent killer

“Depleted uranium is not only radioactive, it is very toxic as well,” says doctor Radomir Kovacevic, an expert of the Institute for radiology protection at the Dr. Dragomir Karajovic institute in Belgrade.

In an interview for the VJ Movement, he explains “Primarily it is nephrotoxic, so it affects the kidneys, then the liver and spleen. Actually, the whole organism is affected from the aspect of toxicity, it is poisoned.”

Four studies conducted so far, on both civilians and those who worked on the spots’ decontamination, have shown that DU exposure causes typical and specific changes in genetic material.

Admittedly low on the list of painful events but high on the list of surprises these past few months overwrought use of historical metaphor. As it turns, out situations may be unique, but a common desire among humans is ignored, the desire to be free of oppression and live a simple good life.

3. There are much larger things at play behind this report

Russia Today = Russian gov't mouthpiece, and Russians and Serbs have an ethnic alliance that predates any of these modern conflicts.
If you don't understand the history behind this situation, you will never see what utter garbage this reporting is.
