Views on DU: 755 | Cenk Uygur on massive protests in London over budget cuts that will cut public sector jobs, reduce funding to the NHS and raise the pension age (among other things). Will we see protests this large in the United States?

3. If we do not see some strong, united action |
|
here, then we will have to sit-back, like George Carlin, and watch what happens.
We won't have any vested or officially recognized interest in the outcome. Maybe we don't have any even now, but the screws have yet to be fully tightened into our vulnerable hides. We have yet to see the bricks at the back of the stage as the facade is taken down. The slow dismantling is probably what frustrates and unnerves many of us who would like to think that a wave of solidarity and unrelenting action will, at the very least, offer resistance to our rising Overlords and make the process of total subjugation harder and a lot less comfortable. So far, here, it has been far too easy to erode and destroy what we have left.
Is doing nothing complacent or complicit? Does willful ignorance count if you are feeding your head at the corporate media trough and falling far the propaganda of a Simulated reality designed to enslave you and yours in perpetuity? Oh, they won't call it what it is. There are always ways to manipulate the conquered and to even get them to like their condition and thank their masters, as we know.
There is a massive, corporate takeover well underway by the industrial and financial sectors. Once completed, (I know, it is pretty far along and the powerful edifice of the MIC is nothing new) I don't see much potential to do anything other than comply and, for most of us, live Orwell style. How nice to give your children and future generations a life of technologically-enforced Serfdom with Draconian rules that help to feed a private prison system with those who don't or can't comply. It's monoculture all the way, and the life of a social insect is what it may resemble. That will be far more efficient and enormously profitable. We know how corporations work and what they want and way of life that will ensue for total domination by them. Chilling?

4. What we've seen with corporate media |
|
is that left wing protests in this country are simply ignored.
That's why strikes have got to be the tactic this time.
