Why is he permitting this or supporting it? Has he given any reasoning for this madness?

2. its mind boggling

This is why sometimes I think hes not really in control. During the campaign he spoke so eloquently about the drug issues and he was on point about the problems, inefficiencies and the injustices brought about by the war no drugs. But now its like he never believed those words

3. Its about Control

Its about total DEA control and the Cash...
You see Cannabis is a plant.. That Plant cannot be Patented by anyone..NO ONE...
So imagine how well the Pharmaceutical Companies would do if most of Americans turned to a Plant you can grow in your yard..
Also fact is this has been going on so long the DEA has grown huge and devoted over 80% of its work force and efforts to keep this plant out of everyone's hands..
The American Government has put tens of thousands of Americans in jails and Prisons just to make a point...
Raids recently in California have proved my point as of today..
Another fact is the Cancer institute recently made a statement backing the rescheduling of Cannabis only to have changed some of their wording days later..
Thats How much Control over Cannabis this Government has and wants to keep..
The Cats out of the Bag as far as the great benefits that can be had...

Not really, I knew he wasn't serious when he laughed off the drug legalization question during the townhall Q & A. Obama would end up being a drug warrior just like the rest of them. Srry but there no change here
