11. I hate the fact he comes from my state... |
|
However, there are by far many more here in Georgia just like him or worse! I seriously hate living in Georgia despite having been born here. My wife & I want to move but we are stuck for now.
It is SAD that I say that about my home state but simply because I was born in Georgia does not mean I am not fully aware the burden the South has caused this nation almost since the very beginning!
Rant over.

3. So... is it constitutional to support churches and religion? |
|
No more "faith based' initiatives!
Tax the churches
Tax the businesses owned by the churches.

Please! Can you imagine the revenue we would have for the building of the "green revolution"?

6. power of Congress vs. purpose |
|
The powers--including regulation of interstate commerce--is what it can do. The purposes for which it can do it are listed in the preamble.

10. I am just about sick to death |
|
I am just about sick to death of the argument that we need to get back to what the "Founding Fathers" envisioned for this country, invariably given as though the cretins actually know what was envisioned. They haven't got a clue. Even if they did, I'm not at all sure the founders themselves did. I expect that for the most part they could not even have begun to imagine the world as it is today.
Radio and television, whether funded by advertisements, listener contributions, or government subsidies? I doubt George Washington was a regular public broadcasting donor (which is probably what rankles a lot of these right-wing boobs). Planned parenthood? Well, I suppose one could go to the local wise woman and get some herbs that would act as an abortifacient.
Tell you what, friends and neighbors: let's just go back to whale oil lamps and tallow candles while we're at it. Let's declare every medical and technological advance made since, say 1800, null and void and downright illegal. Let's revive the old plantation system and start keeping slaves again as the founders intended. No, scratch that last one, they'd probably enjoy that. The button I picked up a few years ago said "Republicans...our bridge to the 12th century," and I thought it was hilarious. Except it's not really; it's much too damned close to the truth to really be funny.
Peace.

Maybe they would like to go back to flintlock rifles while they're at it. That alone would save a lot of lives.
